Abdominoplasty

Abdominoplasty is the removal of excess fat and skin from the abdomen to restore a firm appearance to the area. It is of interest to men and women with sagging skin and a “sagging” abdomen after weight loss, pregnancy, or simply from the passage of time. The procedure can be extended to the sides of the abdomen to include “folds” that may appear there.

Duration of treatment

2-3 hours

Anesthesia

General anesthesia

Stay at the clinic

1-2 overnight stays in a cooperating clinic

Recovery time

2 weeks

Results

Sanding of the abdominal wall muscles.
Youthful, healthy appearance of the abdomen

01.

Procedure

Excess skin and fat are removed from the lower part of the abdomen during the procedure while the abdominal muscle wall is corrected. The skin is stretched downwards, and the navel is placed in a position and manner that is reminiscent of a youthful appearance. Liposuction can also be performed if there is localized fat in the waist area.

It is not an operation aimed at weight loss but at reshaping the abdomen’s appearance – after all, a loose abdomen can appear even in people with a relatively low weight. It can be combined with liposuction to ‘sculpt’ the fat distribution or even correct the laxity between the abdominal muscles that often coexists. The result of the procedure is the smoothing of the abdominal wall muscles and a youthful, healthy appearance of the abdomen.

How does the patient recover?

The patient experiences mild pain after the procedure, which usually subsides with mild analgesics, while the administration of antibiotics ensures that the wound heals smoothly. Final results are seen after the swelling has subsided and internal healing is complete. As for the scar, it is extremely discreet since it occurs below the underwear line.

The success of the surgery and the maintenance of the result for an extended period of time is due to a proper diet, mild and regular physical exercise, stopping smoking at least six weeks before the surgery, as well as taking care of your personal hygiene -especially in the area- during the 24 hours before the surgery.
